OVERVIEW Kalino Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation organized in the State of Hawaii on March 14, 2009. The Foundation has no members; it is governed by a Board of Directors. The Foundation seeks to improve the “Wellness” of Native Hawaiians through a broad agenda. Wellness is defined as a state of well-being. As reviewed at www.definitionofwellness.com, Charles B. Corbin of Arizona State University provides the definition as “a multidimensional state of being describing the existence of positive health in an individual as exemplified by quality of life and a sense of well-being.” The multi-dimensional aspects of Wellness include the following: social, occupational, spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, environmental, financial, mental, and medical. The Foundation is the majority owner of Kalino LLC, a for-profit company with its primary emphasis on health care services. The Foundation will work closely with Kalino LLC and other collaborators who foster the Vision of Wellness for Native Hawaiians.
